5 Reasons You Should Start Playing LoL Wild Rift

League of Legends

Multiplayer online battle arena mobile games

I never expected to get obsessed over a mobile game, but LoL Wild Rift has me hooked. Not a day goes by when I don’t play at least a couple of matches. What’s more, for the first time in the many years of my on-again-off-again relationship with MOBAs, I’m actually playing Ranked.

The PC-bound League of Legends has been somewhat of a weird beast in my eyes. Aside from the toxic playerbase (which every game has), it’s felt quite inaccessible despite being a relatively easy game to jump into. You need to block off some serious time to get one match in. Also, the roster of Champions is beyond massive at this point.

All of this makes Wild Rift feel like a reset for LoL, making it the perfect place to jump into it.

Game Quote:

Wild West

LoL has always had an established metagame the playerbase expects you to follow. Even Riot has fully embraced it, though, without fully enforcing it. Not the case with PvP mode, though. Wild Rift’s equivalent to Casual is still in its wild west phase, which means you can play however you like. Sure, some players – including yours truly – will get upset with you for not picking a Support. But when you look at the enemy team, they’re also a bit of a jumble, so who cares?

Faster Matches

As mentioned above, LoL on PC requires you to make a sizeable time commitment with games clocking in at 45 minutes to over an hour. Not exactly great for busy people and gamer parents. On top of that, the game feels incredibly slow during the opening phases. Wild Rift shoots for matches that last at most 25 minutes. On average, I’d say my games fall on the 18-22 minute mark. Not only am I able to play more matches, but they’re also incredibly fast-paced. Laning goes by quite fast, especially if you have a jungler that’s solid at ganking.

Combat Tips

More Accessible

While League of Legends isn’t the most hardware-intensive game, you still need a decent computer to run it well. Wild Rift being on phones is nothing short of a godsend. It’s designed to be played by devices made in the last six years, which is incredibly forgiving. Heck, the game will run on phones still running Android Kit Kat. With these specs, it’s a lot easier even to get your friends involved.

Simpler Gameplay

LoL has never been the most complicated game to jump into. Its “easy to learn, hard to master” design is relatively well-known. Wild Rift takes that a step further by introducing elements from other mobile MOBAs. My favorite is the quick buy system. Once you’ve racked up enough gold, the game will offer you two choices for your next purchase. Wild Rift also doesn’t have potion items. Instead, scattered around the map and near turrets, you’ll find respawning plants that you can destroy to drop three healing orbs.

Relatively Generous

Compared to other free-to-play games out there, Wild Rift feels very generous with its Blue Motes currency. From simply playing an average of two games per day, I’ve been able to purchase pretty much every Champ I wanted from the current roster while still saving enough to buy 5-6 more Champions down the line. The most significant advantage is that new Champs don’t release at a higher price. Events, quests, and the free version of the Wild Pass also doll out many booster items for XP and Blue Motes.

Activision Blizzard Lawsuit Saddens Gamers

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Activision Blizzard Lawsuit Saddens Gamers

Activision Blizzard Lawsuit

Gaming News

You’ve probably heard over the past few weeks about Activision Blizzard being sued by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. If you haven’t, I’ll fill you in.

It turns out that the company has been running a terrible workplace for a very long time, and their employees have finally been given a voice. It’s not an entirely surprising thing to hear, given that many mega-corporations nurture hostile working environments with terrible pay and benefits

For an old-timer gamer like myself, it isn’t something I would classify as “shocking news.” Nevertheless, it’s still regrettable when a gaming icon like Blizzard turns out to be one of the bad guys.

Gamer Quote:

Unknown

Failure doesn’t mean the game is over, it means try again with experience.”

Feeling Conflicted about the Past

Some of my fondest gaming memories involved Blizzard titles. Running endless Starcraft: Broodwars LAN parties in musty internet cafes. Co-leading a World of Warcraft guild with my spouse. Losing entire days grinding in Diablo 2. These are all moments I cherish greatly as an old-school gamer.

Yet, when I hear that Blizzard’s workplace woes started a long time ago, I can’t help but feel some regret. There’s a sense of complicity that comes with giving such a company money. It almost feels like I was partaking in rewarding them for making games under such a terrible working culture.

All the times I cheered for the big reveals at every Blizzcon when the work actually came off the backs of developers who were treated to sexual harassment and other terrible behavior.

It’s a tough pill to swallow. Yes, I’m not the person who allowed this to happen. There was no way for me to know what was going on behind the doors of Blizzard’s Irvine-based offices. It’s hard to say if I’d grab the opportunity to take it all back, but I do know one thing for sure; Blizzard won’t see another dime from me.

Activision Blizzard Lawsuit

Can’t Enjoy the Future

Just as the news about Activision Blizzard’s lawsuit broke, my spouse mentioned above mused about how much fun we had playing WoW back in the day. My reply was a sobering “too bad we will never go back to it.” I meant every word of it. Even with some great titles on the horizon, such as Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, I’m not going to be picking up any more Blizzard games.

For one, my excitement for them has wholly been shattered. Games are supposed to be fun escapism, a delving into worlds where reality takes a back seat. Yet, how can I indulge when these games are not made with passion but greed and power moves at the forefront. The developers themselves are likely not to blame.

The executives at the top are uncaring and only take action when the press and public become aware. Be that as it may, there’s nothing ethical about publicly ridiculing women for wanting less sexualized characters in their video games. Business and principles can go hand-in-hand, and it’s up to Blizzard to prove to us that they can make it happen. Of course, that’s all contingent on them being able to make it through this ugly situation.

Has the PS5 Been a Worthwhile Purchase?

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Has the PS5 Been a Worthwhile Purchase?

Playstation 5

Sony Playstation newest game console…

I consider myself incredibly lucky to be able to get a PS5 a mere two months after launch. Like many gamers out there, I missed out on the initial batch that got ransacked by scalpers and a few luckier actual customers.

When I finally received notice that it was my turn in December 2020, I was overjoyed. It’s been nine months since my shiny new Sony console arrived, and looking back on it, I had to wonder if it was worth all the anxiety and frustration.

Fast Loading is a Gamechanger

It’s undeniable that the PS5 is an incredibly fast console. Sony wasn’t exaggerating when they described the speeds at which their next-gen console loads games. It feels like magic.

Especially for people who have minimal time to play games, the PS5’s loading speeds are a gamechanger. I no longer need to do the pre-loading rituals I used to where I turned on the console and went off to grab a drink while my game initialized. I can now just sit down and play. Even better, hopping onto another game doesn’t even require me to shut down the one I’m already playing. It’s really how gaming ought to be now.

Upgraded Backlog is More Enjoyable

We all know that the past months have been dubbed the Year of the Backlog, and for good reason. Next-gen new releases have been sparse, prompting people to tackle games they have yet to complete. The PS5 just makes all of that far more enjoyable.

What’s the best PS5 game?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Gamer Quote:

Unknown

Games don’t make you violent, lag does.”

What’s better PS5 or Xbox Series X?

With so many titles getting free next-gen upgrades and others running a lot more smoothly thanks to the console’s spec boost, going through my backlog has never been a better experience.

Secondary PS4 Adds Versatility

This may not be universal, but I haven’t gotten rid of my PS4 since the new console arrived. Instead, it’s been sitting under our living room TV while my PS5 takes up the spot on my desk setup. I may be in the minority with this, but I feel having two consoles that can run the same games to be highly versatile.

With the PS5 having such limited storage capacity, my PS4 acts like an extra hard drive that allows me to enjoy more games whenever I feel like it. I also have access to gaming on both a computer monitor and a bigger 4K TV if I want to play something a bit more cinematic. Finally, it has enabled my spouse and me to play more multiplayer games together. With so few titles having couch co-op these days, having a second console has allowed us to enjoy even more titles together.

Overall, the PS5 has yet to give me the full next-gen experience. Its higher specs and unique features, however, have made it a worthwhile purchase despite that. With games like Deathloop on the horizon, it’s only a matter of time until my early adoption pays off.

Welcome to the N.H.K. is a Hidden Gem Anime

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Welcome to the N.H.K. is a Hidden Gem Anime

Welcome to the N.H.K.

Manga and Comics

When it comes to anime or any form of media, we all have our share of hidden gems.

These are titles that don’t let us think twice when giving anyone else that special, over the top, recommendation that will blow their mind away.

Some gems I recommend are:

Mononoke for the artistic horror.

Kids on the Slope for those who want to get drunk on a sweet romance they were never able to see for themselves.

91 Days brings back the good old mafia days while delivering a story that makes the hearts weep in complete unison.

Dorohedoro‘ makes us question what the hell we’re looking at for the entirety of its runtime.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that hidden gems are different personalities and individualities shining at their very best when it comes to the plethora of media and in this case, anime titles there are.

Yet, as we all know, some titles fail to see the light of day, whether it’s for the right or wrong reasons. Many don’t get that level of attention.

Welcome to the N.H.K. is amazing and the perfect ‘out of the box’ idea that gives you that dose, that flavor of the harsh ‘main course’ that reality’s about to hit you with, especially if you end up going down the same in the story.

Let’s have a look at what exactly makes the title such a wonderful piece of art despite being as underrated as a show can get when anime is taken into consideration.

What is a NEET?

I’m pretty sure you’ve heard the terms NEET, recluse, shut-in, or straight up hikikomori somewhere on the internet before.

Welcome to the N.H.K. introduces you to those terms with Satou, a guy taking the bullet for all fans and anime otakus out there. He is ready to be that bad guy no one wants to be in any story.

Being inside a room that you deemed as your sanctuary for the better-half of your life with an allowance and all the modern amenities one could think of sounds like sweet comfortable dream, but are things ever really that simple?

Welcome to the N.H.K. explores the lives of several young adults around the city of Tokyo.

Each have different lifestyles, but one becomes the focus of the story, the concept of being a hikikomori. It is a term that means a reclusive individual who withdraws from society. Having most of the characters experience intense feelings of depression and loneliness, this anime covers important topics common in Japan.

Author Quote:

H.S. Crow

We yearn for a stranger to poke around in our heart. Such an irrational thing it is. Flutter once and lunacy behold.”

The beauty of life, and the luxury that the unpredictable brings.

Nothing’s set in stone, especially when our own world is taken into consideration. With the world doing total 180’s every couple of seconds, earning someone’s trust is a feat a person should be proud of.

It’s only natural that the shut-in Satou is going to be at a total loss of words when interacting with actual person, but when the guy next door blasting those anime opening songs and the mysterious ‘flyer distributor’s’ assistant girl is destined to be your savior down the road… It won’t be wrong to say that the chances of you foreseeing it happening by any means aren’t that much higher from the digit zero we love to have in real life.

The way this anime portrays the different situations the protagonist has to overcome while Yamazaki and Misaki are there to help him with every step he takes is quite thrilling. Seeing him through his trials and tribulations while making sure he gets closer and closer to fit into the society he strayed from, shows the value companions and bonds bring.

In its truest sense the relationship between the characters is so beautiful, so wholesome that the title ends up giving you that dose of sweetness that a lot of people aren’t expecting from a show like this.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

At a war with his own self, him against the entire world…

Visions force you to believe that you’re nothing but a failure, voices tell you how you’d never amount to anything, and the mirror showing the person you hate most in the world, Welcome to the N.H.K. doesn’t hold back on any punches.

Doubt, grief, paranoia and regret takes over Satou over and over again, the anime gives you a taste of the harsh reality we’re all a part of, the cruel world we all live in. As they say, ‘a drowning man catches at a straw’, you see the man’s desperation, trying to cling, hold on to anything that his fingers can get the slightest grasp of.

He is looking for something to save him, to drag him out of that abyss that he’s sunk deep in, even if there is nothing but poison at the end of it all.

The psychological warfare with the different personalities having a go at it in a free-for-all without sugar coating anything is what makes the anime hit home for a lot of us and makes us witness hard truth… there’s a massive world outside of our own room.

Combat Tips

A beautiful conclusion, a befitting end to a story that never should’ve existed..

Some might say that the anime is a lot to handle. I can agree with that to some extent, but in my opinion. The way the show does those turns, those detours down the road to arrive at the finish line is what made me totally hooked.

Seeing Satou’s growth as he makes that transition, attempts that change what he was sure he’d never be able to pull off… it all shows how it’s never too late for anyone out there.

From being a shut-in vampire where the slightest of love from the sun makes him burn to finally being able to walk around, travel, and have a normal conversation with any soul on the planet put a smile on my face. The character development and growth is nothing but a delight through and through.

Sure, parting ways with Yamazaki that was his brother-in-arms when it came to that ‘galge’ makes us shed a tear or two but the anime makes sure we aren’t able to get a break at all with the last episode being one of the best any anime has ever brought to the screen. At least for me.

The Verdict

Through and through, Welcome to the N.H.K. is one of the most underrated titles out there and is for sure a name that deserves a lot more attention.

It has a unique concept with innovative settings that separates it from other anime out there. It executes the struggles one faces when put in that similar situation in such an accurate and real way that it’s hard to not be able to relate to the show in one way.

The show sure throws a lot at you during its ‘24 episode’ count. I was actually kind of amazed as to why people weren’t talking about this title a lot since despite it being a few years old at this point, it still hasn’t lost its impact one bit.

The anime making sure it hits you right in the feels over and over again, all while keeping up that mysterious aura that we can’t help but love to pieces.

Steam Deck May Broaden the PC Gaming Community

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Steam Deck May Broaden the PC Gaming Community

Steam Deck

Valve’s new handheld

The announcement of Valve’s upcoming portable gaming device, the Steam Deck, has made an explosive impression on gamers.

The magnitude of the bombshell Gabe Newell and his company dropped on us has left us all reeling, thirsty to get our hands on it. It’s easy to see why.

A portable device that aims to play every game in our Steam libraries is one of the most significant value propositions in video game history. And the gravity force of the massive black hole it will leave behind will suck more people into PC gaming.

For the longest time, playing games on a PC was viewed as a space for the hardcore, spec-hungry crowd. The Steam Deck will finally show that there’s room for casual gamers as well.

Simpler Game Settings

One of the most intimidating and/or frustrating aspects of PC gaming is adjusting settings. Whether you’re trying to get the best possible performance, the crispest visuals, or a balance between the two, it’s not a fun experience for the average gamer. I should know.

I’ve built gaming PCs, and even I find fiddling with settings tedious. The Steam Deck opens up possibilities to change that.

What drives most average gamers to consoles is their ease of use.

If Valve’s portable succeeds, devs will need to make it easy for users to get the correct settings without hassle. They can achieve this through profiles and recommendations that are easy for non-hardcore PC folk to understand while giving them the best possible experience for their hardware.

Game Quote:

Javik, Mass Effect 3

Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer.”

Low Spec Legitimacy

The unsung heroes of PC gaming are the Low Spec Warriors, people with machines that run Steam games at medium to low settings. The Steam Deck can be the catalyst towards recognizing that these gamers are the primary sales drivers of PC titles.

The result could be games that are designed and developed to be playable on less powerful machines. Companies like Blizzard have been targeting our low-spec friends for a long time. Big games like Fortnite run respectfully well on borderline toasters.

A revolution that legitimizes their value can finally open up the world of PCs to more gamers and maybe even encourage them to dive into the deep end.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Steam Deck vs Nintendo Switch

Since its inception, the portable console market has been dominated by Nintendo. Despite the best efforts of Sony and Sega, the Big N’s stranglehold on the market has yet to be loosened. The Steam Deck could very well change that. With Nintendo constantly keeping itself out of the spec race, there’s an opportunity for Valve’s device to inspire other companies to make more powerful portables, opening up the floodgates to a yet-to-be-discovered audience.

The Steam Deck is as exciting a device as it gets at the moment. It can potentially change the way we see PC gaming by making it less about specs and more about how and when you can enjoy your games library.

Anime has recently grown in popularity worldwide as more anime episodes are made available through various popular video streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and others. As a newbie, it’s difficult to know where to start with literally hundreds of different series to pick from and practically every genre available, from Rom-com to action, school dramas, and even sports.

I’ve been watching anime for over 15 years and consider myself a bit of an expert on the subject. Allow me to serve as your guide in ranking the ideal anime for you as a newbie.

This list will include fan-favorite anime that are only a season or two long, allowing new viewers to stay up with the story without having to watch over 100+ episodes.

The majority of popular anime appears to be incredibly long, with over 200+ episodes, which can be a turnoff for newbies.

Keep in mind that this list is not in any specific order.

Also, this isn’t a list of the greatest anime ever produced. It’s a list of good anime that don’t need an introduction and are good places to start for new anime viewers. Hopefully, you’ll find something to your liking on this list. Enjoy!

10.

Vinland saga

I just recently watched this anime and loved it! A fantastic piece! The Vinland Saga is a historical animation with a dash of adventure and action, taking us way back to 1013 AD England, under the reign of the Danish invaders known as Vikings.

This anime also shows historical events from England’s history, making it informative while remaining entertaining. With only 24 episodes, you’ll be completely engrossed in the rich plot and adventure. This is an anime worth watching for a newbie.

Not too long, not too complicated. Fans are eagerly anticipating Season 2, as there is still more to discover. Check out this anime and join the crew of the ship sailing to Vinland ;).

9.

Sword Art Online

Sword art online, abbreviated and popularly known as SAO, is a New Generation isekai (another world) series packed with action, adventure, a smidgeon of romance, and an incredible plot.

Fast forward to 2022, when advanced VR online gaming became a thing, and players could leave the physical world and enter a virtual one to play games. Isn’t that cool?!

The game SAO was created, and thousands of gamers, including the protagonist (Kirito), logged on but were unable to log out. Hence trapped and won’t be released until after clearing all 100 stages of the game; death in the game also means death in the real world. SICK right?! You should check it out to see how it ends out.

8.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

One of the most well-known New Generation Shonen series, winning the anime of the year award in 2019. A creation of Ufotable studio (best known for their high-budget animation).

Packed with amazing battle scenes, demons, superpowers, adventure, and martial arts. Demon slayers, as the name suggests, are a group of samurai who hunt and kill demons.

The tale revolves around a kind-hearted teen Tanjiro Kamado, who sets out to become a demon slayer after his family was slaughtered and his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon. Traveling around in search of a cure to revert his sister back into human.

After completing the series, you should watch the sequel, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. This is a must-see! Let’s take a look at some other genres since we’ve been talking about action for a while.

7.

Kuroko no Basket

You probably already know what this anime is about based on the title. “But what if I’m not a sports fan or a basketball fan?” you might wonder. Perhaps you’re thinking. Well, I wasn’t myself, and I found myself appreciating basketball as a result of this anime depiction of the sport. I even went through the effort of learning how to ball 😉

I’m sure you’ll feel the same way. One of the shows that is pushing the sport genre in new directions. With characters that had exceptional skills, the show became a lot more interesting.

You’ll definitely appreciate this series as it’s gripping and full of suspense, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger. After completing the series, you should check out the sequel, Kuroko no basket; The last game. A must see!

Death Note

Yagami, a high school student, discovers a strange notebook with the power to kill anyone whose name is written on its pages.

He goes by the vigilante name Kira and uses the death Note to carry out a global massacre of those he considers to be immoral to establish a crime-free society.

If you’re interested in psychological thrillers and supernatural shows, then Death Note Is a must-watch for you.

5.

Toradora

YA lovely high school series about a delinquent-looking but extremely nice guy (Takasu Ryuji) and a wild tsundere (Aisaka Taiga) who resolve to help each other with their crushes. Obviously, things didn’t go as planned.

A rom-com series filled with heartwarming and funny scenes. Loved every bit of the series.

Half way down the Top 10 Anime for beginners 2021 list!

4.

Assassination classroom

Writing about this anime brings back a lot of memories! KORO SENSEI! BITCH SENSEI!

At first, I thought the plot funny, as I couldn’t understand why a powerful alien-like being would volunteer to teach a particular class while also training the pupils to assassinate him to save the Earth.

There would undoubtedly be a backstory to it, and they did not disappoint me as it later turned out to be an incredible story. This anime is unquestionably an excellent series for newbies, packed with funny scenes, teamwork, and, of course, assassinations.

Also, the final episodes were emotional. A must-see series.

3.

Haikyuu!

This list includes yet another sports anime. Haikyuu is a volleyball-based series, unlike Kuroko no Basket The characters are realistic and quite relatable as you see their development as the series progresses.

The top two shows in the sports category, Haikyuu, and Kuroko Basket have sparked a lot of debate in the community.

Which is better? we addressed this question in one of our articles: HAIKYUU vs KNB!

2.

Jujutsu Kaisen

jujutsu is a New Generation Shonen series that aired between late 2020 and March 2021. Popular and loved by fans. Jujutsu has a tale that is similar to Naruto but different.

The plot follows a high school student, Yuji Itadori who joins a secret group of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to slay Ryomen Sukuna, a strong Curse of whom he becomes the host.

A MAPPA studio production packed with battle scenes, extraordinary powers, and a fantastic plot.

1.

Full-Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

FMAB is my all-time favorite anime, I feel it is underrated as it does not receive the recognition it deserves. You can never go wrong with FMAB if you’re new to anime.

Following the story of the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse set out on a mission to retrieve their bodies after an attempt to resurrect their deceased mother went wrong, leaving them in a physically damaged state.

While hunting for answers, they begin to unravel hidden mysteries, which adds to the intrigue of the plot. This anime is packed with action, suspense, and interesting characters. FMAB is a wonderful choice if you appreciate sci-fi, adventure, historical fiction, and a splash of magic.

This listing only scratches the surface, but it will offer you a taste of different story ideas and animation styles to get you started.

Please share your thoughts on the Top 10 Anime for beginners 2021 list in the comments section of our social media!

We would love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve become a full-fledged fan, just like everyone else. I grew up watching anime and have always enjoyed writing; I honed my skills by writing about anime as it comes naturally to me. 4 Underutilized Gaming and Card Genres on Twitch

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

4 Underutilized Gaming and Card Genres on Twitch

Best Games to Stream on twitch for new Streamers 2021

Start Streaming on Twitch

With an astounding 9.3 million people streaming on Twitch in April and millions watching every day, the appeal of starting a Twitch channel is undeniable. I mean, who wouldn’t want to make a living playing video games or just doing what they love, right? But we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: finding success as a Twitch streamer is hard. There are literally millions of people trying to make it, and most advice for aspiring streamers just doesn’t work.

What does work? Finding your unique selling point (USP) in a sea of millions of creators and carving out a niche for yourself. Creating content that people will look forward to watching. And providing great interactions with your community to keep them coming back to watch your streams.

Luckily, there are some genres that aren’t overly saturated and present plenty of opportunities for the aspiring content creator. If you’re interested in any of these genres, then you’re in luck:

Chess

Chess is one of those few games that have managed to make a seamless transition to the virtual world. The release of Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit has helped increase interest in the game too, and more and more people are looking to learn how to play chess.

Chess is a game that lends itself well to being livestreamed: there are popular platforms like Chess.com and Chess24, which let you play chess with people around the world through your web browser, and you can take your stream through your process of deciding what moves to make, as well as take their comments and suggestions.

Viewers love it when a streamer takes their comments to heart, and they’ll love it even more if they get to watch your journey as you rise through the ranks. Popular chess players like Hikaru Nakamura have also taken to teaching other streamers how to play chess on Twitch, so both experienced and rookie chess players have a chance of making it on Twitch.

Mark Twain

The secret to getting ahead is getting started.”

Poker

There are over 2 million people following the poker category on Twitch, and there’s a great mix of big brands broadcasting live games and players streaming video poker games.

Poker is one of those games that exploded when mobile apps and online gaming became more accessible, and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t at least know what poker is. However, people on Twitch don’t just want to watch players win games: they also want to hear commentary and get their questions answered.

A great poker Twitch channel should be able to teach viewers how to become great at poker, from how to limit your range and stay patient to how to network with other players and find others to play with. Don’t be afraid to lose, either – viewers like relatable streamers, and the occasional defeat can not only endear you to them, but also keep your ego in check.

Board Games

Board games saw a rapid rise in popularity even before the pandemic hit, and there are plenty of YouTube channels out there reviewing how board games are played and going through the rules.

What’s missing, however, are videos of these games actually being played. I guess watching a 16-hour recording of random people playing Monopoly isn’t the most exciting way to spend your weekend, but how about actually being there in the moment and experiencing the highs and lows with the players?

There’s plenty of opportunity for interacting with your stream when you play board games – both online variants and classic tabletop games – and viewers will enjoy joining you on your journey to understanding and mastering a new board game’s rules.

Tarot Readings

Virtual tarot readings have become all the rage in recent months, with many people advertising their services on Instagram and other social media sites. On Twitch, however, there are only a handful of tarot readers offering live readings to viewers.

This is a genre that you’re sure to find success in if you don’t take yourself too seriously and have fun with your chat. You could even make your channel a mix of livestreaming and tarot readings, so people can see how your cards unfold – both in-stream and in real life!

Success as a streamer can be pretty hard to attain, and one important thing to remember is that you’ll never have overnight success – no matter what genre you’re getting into.

Most successful streamers have been at it for years, and it takes even longer to finally see those views start trickling in. That’s why it’s important to stream something you actually like doing.

I was skeptical of Twitch in the beginning, and even thought many of them were cringe-worthy. I finally gave in when my favorite YouTubers started Twitch channels, and I’ve been exploring new streamers ever since! These days, I’m exploring VTubers and getting really into the Holo Live scene, especially the comedic ones like Vulo the Face Borrower.

Haikyu VS Kuroko’s Basket

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Haikyu VS Kuroko’s Basket

The Top Sports Anime

Haikyu anime and Kuroko’s Basket which is better?

Haikyu VS Kuroko’s Basket is going to be a tough one to decide. These are two of the most popular and well-known sports anime of the last decade, have risen to the forefront of the genre, pushing it ahead in new and exciting ways.

So similar, yet so different. Both are based on manga that initially published in Weekly Shounen Jump, the world’s most famous manga magazine, and were animated by the same studio; production I.G. Both appearing on multiple best-of lists and garnering high scores on aggregation websites.’

“But what if I’m not a fan of either of the sports?” you might be wondering if you haven’t seen any of these shows. Well, I wasn’t myself, and as a result of these anime’s comprehensive portrayals of how amazing each sport is in its own way, I’ve grown a liking for both basketball and volleyball.

Before we begin, let me state that this is simply based on my opinion, and both of these series are fantastic in their own right, deserving of their current popularity and fanbase. I feel that, as with any question of taste, a viewer’s decision to interact with any of these shows will be influenced by their personal preferences in entertainment. So, let’s get right into it!

The Best Shounen Anime

Narrative

Both anime are about sport, centering their story around being a newly established high school team as they grow stronger while they face increasingly difficult opponents. with Haikyu!! focusing on volleyball and Kuroko no Basuke focusing on basketball. Both feature a team of two main characters (Hinata and Kageyama/ Kuroko and Kagami) who work together to become even more powerful.

They both share same sports anime clichés such as an almost entirely male cast (with the exception of a female manager or coach) and overpowered main protagonists. Haikyu’s production focuses on the main cast’s vulnerabilities and how they learn to overcome them, whereas KNB is focused on the antagonists’ (Generation of the miracle) overpowering strength and how the main cast learns to overcome it.

The majority of Haikyu’s time is focused on the Karasuno team’s skill development. KNB on the other hand emphasizes on the Generation of Miracles from the start, with an opening monologue depicting them as rivals from the protagonist’s (Kuroko) past, with the only purpose of conquering them in the end.

Author Quote:

Oikawa Tooru

“Talent is something you bloom, Instinct is something you polish”

-Haikyū

Realism:

Haikyuu is a slice-of-life sports anime with characters who have remarkable mobility, skill, and potential but no unusual super abilities. They’re depicted in a realistic way that’s easy to relate to. They make errors, laugh about, and practice hard, and as the story unfolds, you’ll witness how they evolve.

Haikyu characters are presented as relatively actual high schoolers who LOOK like ordinary high students playing on a reasonably ordinary high school level. Everyone in KNB looked like they should be in college! packed with basketball prodigies reputed to be so talented that if they went pro, they could revolutionize the game forever.

On the other hand, KNB is a fantasy with characters with special abilities ranging from Kise (Perfect copy) to Akashi (Emperor Eye) to Kuroko (Absolute Passing Skills), and then there’s the ZONE! However, the series’ intense antics, are exactly what most viewers want to see.

This point goes to Haikyuu as its More realistic and Relatable.

Intensity:

SEIRIN FIGHT! SEIRIN FIGHT! DEFENSE! DEFENSE! Those are the chants from KNB; this series is so filled with thrilling energy that viewers begin to cheer for the main team (speaking from personal experience).

Haikyu, on the other hand, is more on the calm and humorous side of things. The comic jabs were frequent, effective, and provided light relief in tense circumstances. However, it’s no match for KNB as most viewers, including myself, are suckers for action and exciting shows. On that note, this point goes to KNB.

Art style/ Visuals:

The art style of KNB is a lot cooler. The art style is vastly different from Haikyu’s. All of the characters in KNB have broad shoulders, massive, well-defined muscles, and are exceedingly handsome, with the exception of Kuroko, who appears to be little. A number of them look like grown men, and they’re all supposed to be able to cut an intimidating figure on the court, which I find cool.

The characters of Haikyu, on the other hand, are slim, pointed, and sleek. When compared to the grownups in the series, they appear to be a bunch of kids. The visuals of Haikyu are significantly superior to that of the KNB, as they are significantly more vibrant and colorful. Since we all know KNB is a little dated, it’s a no-brainer. This point winds down with a tie which is going to make the Haikyu VS Kuroko’s Basket even harder to pick from.

Protagonist:

Kuroko is a complex character, but Hinata, however is quite interesting. When comparing Hinata with Kuroko, it’s clear that Hinata has a much more appealing and well-developed personality. Kuroko is far too straightforward and cold as the story’ protagonist due to his role as a shadow of the team. On the other hand, Hinata is the ideal protagonist who is usually in a positive mood and can easily switch once it’s game time. On that note, this point goes to Haikyu.

That’s all for now folks! That’s my take on both series for the Haikyu VS Kuroko’s Basket look through; kindly share your thoughts in the comments area. What team do you root for? Kindly let us know in the comments section in our social media.

Black Clover: Magic Knight Captain Ranked

STORIES THAT ENCHANT THE MIND

Magic Knight Captain Ranked

Black Clover

Top Ten Magic Knight Captains

Black Clover: Magic Knight Captain Ranked is going to be a unique venture. Black Clover, a new generation Shonen anime directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara is a typical shonen anime with magic, demons, swords, strong characters, fighting, and all the good stuff. Similar to Naruto, Bleach, and the likes.

Yuno and Asta, two orphans who were abandoned in a chapel on the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom, are at the center of the story. In a world where magic is everything, Asta was born without any, whereas Yuno was born with incredible magical abilities and the ability to control them.

The Clover Kingdom has several enemies, and they must protect themselves not just against foes from other nations, but also from terrorists from the Eye of the Midnight Sun (Byakuya no Magan). Fortunately for them, they have their Magic Knight squadrons to aid them.

The Order of the Magic Knight is a corps of chosen mages who serve as Magic Knights in the Kingdom’s army. The organization’s noble goal is to protect the Kingdom from all threats..

The Magic Knights are divided into nine (9) squads, each led by a skilled and powerful Magic Knight Captain. Each squad has its unique badge that matches the squad’s name, as well as distinctive robes that differentiate members of different squads.

The question, who among the magic knight captains is the strongest? has sparked a lot of debate in the community. Hence why we’re addressing it. Each of the captains has a unique fighting style that they incorporate with their magical abilities. Making them each all stand out. They’re all loved and respected by the people of Clover kingdom, and their strength and charm have won them lots of fans.

In this post, we’ll be reviewing the Magic Knight Captains from bottom up. Let’s jump right into it!

10.

Kaiser Granvorka (Purple Orca):

Following Gueldre Poizot’s eviction for betraying the kingdom, Kaiser was appointed captain of the Purple Orca squad. He possesses a three-leaf clover grimoire with vortex magic, allowing him to produce magical whirlwinds that dispel other magic.

We don’t know the full scope of his powers as he doesn’t get a lot of screen time in the series. However, as the “Kingdom’s Ultimate Shield,” his defensive skills are formidable. Despite this, he is a captain who is humble, kind, and capable.

Mangaka Quote:

Masashi Kishimoto

“When a man learns to love, he must bear the risk of hatred.”

― Madara

9.

Rill Boismortier (Aqua Deer):

Rill was named captain of Aqua Deer at the age of 19, making him the youngest Magic Knight captain in history, he nevertheless acts childish at times. He uses painting magic alongside a paintbrush and palette to casts his spells.

He can generate and manipulate paint with his magical ability, allowing him to bring his sketches to life and create any element by painting it. He enjoys painting so much that he occasionally forgets about his captain responsibilities. Regardless, he is a capable and skilled captain.

8.

Charlotte Roselei (Blue Rose):

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Charlotte is a noblewoman from House Roselei and the captain of the Blue Rose squad, an all-female squad founded on the notion that males are irrelevant (although they all started dating secretly) She places a high value on her duty to the kingdom and is uninterested in social activities. Charlotte appears to be a collected, cold person who is always in control of her emotions.

She is, however, uneasy around the Black Bull’s captain, Yami Sukehiro, as she’s in love with him. She uses briar magic and can create a briar-like whip to utilize with her Magic. Her briars were originally red, but when the Roselei family curse triggered, she lost a bit of her magic and the color changed blue. As a noblewoman, captain, and ex elf host, Charlotte wields a vast quantity of magical power. One of the series strongest female character.

7.

Jack the Ripper (Green Mantis):

Jack the Ripper, captain of the green mantis squad and a former commoner with a twisted persona. He enjoys fighting and is obsessed with severing anything with his magical blades.

Quite powerful, despite his personality. He sticks his tongue out the majority of the time and is also well known for his mischievous laughter in the series.

He uses slash magic, and as he fights, the blades adapt to his opponent’s magic, enhancing his slashing abilities to the point of slicing through both spatial and gravity magic.

Determining the Captains for this Black Clover: Magic Knight Captain Ranked article was a bit tough, but worth diving into.

6.

Dorothy Unsworth (Coral Peacock):

Dorothy is a witch that fled the Witches’ Forest and became the captain of the Coral Peacock Squad. For some reason she tends to sleep a lot, but most of the time is constantly aware of her surroundings regardless of the noise. She’s extremely energetic and adventurous when awake.

She uses dream magic to control anything and everything in her dream world (glamour world), and defeating her is the only way to get out. Aside from that, this spell makes the victims sleepy over time, and if they fall asleep in the world, they will never be able to wake up, thereby trapping them in an endless slumber.

5.

Nozel Silva (Silver Eagles):

Nozel is the captain of the silver eagle squad and also the oldest son of House Silva, one of the Kingdom’s royal families. He is an arrogant man who believes he is superior to everybody else. Despite his disregard for peasants, he prioritizes his responsibilities to the kingdom.

He uses mercury magic similar to his mother’s (Acier Silva) steel magic, where he’s able to create and manipulate mercury at will. Due to his vast and efficient control of mana he’s able to combine both offense and defense by transforming his magic shape at will.

Nozel, who is very dedicated and still growing, is capable of quickly replacing William Vangeance on the list at any point.

4.

William Vangeance (Golden Dawn):

William was a member of the Aqua Deer squad who ascended through the ranks to become the captain of the Golden Dawn. He is said to be the most likely candidate to become the next wizard king as he is very powerful and highly respected. William was born as an illegitimate child to a noble family and was assumed to be cursed because of a scar covering half of his face.

As a result, he was forced to grow up in the Forsaken Realm of the kingdom. He was given a mask by Julius Novachrono (the Wizard King), which he finds tacky but nevertheless wears. William uses arcane stage magic; World Tree magic. His world tree magic is very diverse, allowing him to absorb mana, cast healing and offensive spells.

What are your thoughts on the Black Clover: Magic Knight Captain Ranked so far? Better yet, what Captains would you have considered?

3.

Fuegoleon Vermillion (Crimson Lions):

Fuegoleon Vermillion, House Vermillion’s eldest son. He is also the captain of the Crimson Lions. He was briefly replaced by his older sister, Mereoleona While he was in a coma and later returns to his position after recovering.

Fuegoleon is a noble knight who assesses people based on their true worth, and not their social standing as well as a polite nobleman with excellent leadership capabilities, motivating any soldier on the battlefield while also assuming command in any circumstances and issuing orders as required.

He uses fire magic, exceedingly powerful, and has been compared to Mereleona in terms of strength. His strength has reached unimaginable heights since receiving the fire spirit (Salamander). He’s still developing since he’s up against a lot of rivals in the series.

2.

Mereoleona Vermillion (Acting Crimson Lions):

Mereoleona is house vermilion eldest daughter. She was temporarily elected captain of Crimson Lion when her younger brother (Fuegoleon) was in coma after fighting Patolli the leader of the terrorist group (eye of the midnight sun), she was also appointed captain of Royal Knights squad.

Mereoleona has never been interested in the traditional structure of the kingdom armies. Since leaving home to practice in the woods, roaming the kingdom fighting off wild magical beasts, she has gained physical strength and proficiency in hand-to-hand combat.

Her combat expertise, strength, and ability to use mana skin and mana zone are unequaled proving that she is indeed the “Lioness of the crimson lions”. Mereoleona remains the strongest female character in the series.

1.

Yami Sukehiro (Black Bull):

Yami, our all-time favorite is at the top of the list! A foreigner from Hino nation who got lost and ended up in Clover Kingdom. Yami is noted for being a hot-headed, impulsive, and lazy character that can easily become furious over little concerns and issue death threats at the drop of a hat. He also spends a lot of time in the toilet and doesn’t like anyone disturbing. Nonetheless, he is a capable and well-respected captain.

In his signature style, he says, “Surpass your limits.” “Right now, right here,” he says, displaying a steadfastness that sets him apart from other captains. In light of the issue, Yami devises something new. Hence, surpassing his limits. He also instills it in his squad members, making them motivated and capable in their own right.

Yami is a brilliant swordsman with amazing reflexes due to his usage of ki. He uses arcane stage magic; dark magic that he basically channels with his katana. With his magic, he can attack, defend, strengthen, and constrain. This gives it a lot of versatility.

He can also unleash strong spells like Dimension Slash – Equinox and Death Thrust due to his mastery of mana zone, making him the strongest on the list. The aforementioned captains are all quite capable and excellent in their own right, but here is our ranking.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you agree with the list or do you think the captains should be ranked differently? Let us know what you think in the comments area or create your own Black Clover: Magic Knight Captain Ranked list! Thank you for reading.

I wasn’t a huge fan of anime from the start, and I was one of those naysayers if you know what I mean. Then I decided to give anime a go, and boy! I’ve become a full-fledged fan, just like everyone else. I grew up watching anime and have always enjoyed writing; I honed my skills by writing about anime as it comes naturally to me. My all-time favorite anime is FMAB.
